Reni

Reni works as a prostitute at The Blushing Loaf, those she often helps out with the bar when it is understaffed. It comes as no surprise to newcomers of the Blushing Loaf that Reni, a fine-looking lass with a lean willowy and vibrant red hair, is a red elf (whores of her kind are highly sought after in Susselfen because of a number of unfounded assumptions about their sexual abilities). She was born and raised in Elftown, but finds the more integrated Susselfen easier to live in as a magickal person.

In general, Reni tends to lack the easygoing nature and patience that red elves tend to have, and does not suffer fools gladly - even going so far as to refuse services if a patron looks at her the wrong way. In spite of this, she has taken quite a shine to Nelhoepher and Lem, finding their antics and irrepressible enthusiasm charming.

Arna Clinders

Arna Clinder, a barmaid (and barmaid only, she is quite quick to add) at The Blushing Loaf, wears her 30-something years well. She's retained the curvaceous physique of her youth and few, if any, gray hairs are noticeable in blonde locks. Though the small crows feet around her eyes and smile lines around her mouth do betray her age slightly, many think that they make her smiles and laughter that much more endearing.

Arna gre up in a small village on the border of the Fethil and the Klevaracht Mountains, and her village had a strong relationship with some of the nearby elvish compounds, and even learn to the locale red elvish dialect suprisingly well. As a result, Arna finds herself equally comfortable with the red elvish patrons and staff as she is with the human staff and patrons.

Arna tends to regard Nelhoepher and Lem as harmless and lovable gits, and treats them more like pets than patrons. She has developed a great fondness towards the young Bertronius, believing him to be a bright and polite young boy who, she is sure, will grow up to be quite handsome indeed.

Vathorem

Vathorem is an elf in Jellihondor's north-bound battalion. He is a little older than most of the other elves in the group, and is closest in age to Rethnaki. Vathorem is firmly committed to the ideals of the Rebel Army, but has begun to question whether he can best serve the Rebels' interests as a footsoldier in the army - in the last few battles he has (barely) lived through, Vathorem has realized that he is not as skilled with weapons as his fellows (or even Jarthen!) and apparently much more accident prone.

He is, however, highly skilled at the social graces forms of magick that red elves posses, able to perform lingering glamours, cause others to fall in love with him, and detect lies with some accuracy. Vathorem has been gathering the courage to approach Jellihondor about his role in the Rebel Army, but never seems to quite find the right time for it.

Shalini

Though still of a young age (even for humans), Shalini is widely known among the Inalan and among seers of all varieties for her talents. As a child, Shalini often reported that she heard whispers from unknown people hinting at things to come. Her parents, like most, did not take such claims seriously, thinking them the follies of childhood - until they did start coming true. Though her predictions are rare and infrequent, they have a record of near-perfect accuracy.

While the Inalan seek her out for her precognitive abilities, seers of all stripes seek her out for her interpretive ones. It is well-known among seers that having insight to the future is only half the battle - for them to be truly useful, the often hazy and vague visions must be understood. Shalini displays an uncanny ability to interpret and translate the strange transmissions receive, and is deeply respected in the far-spread network of seers because of it.

Sir Atelon Mavelyn Scrudton

Sir Atelon Scrudton is the highest ranking member of the Imperial Spy Corps in the city of Susselfen. Although he has achieved a position of considerable responsibility and power, his career has been marked by Byzantine twists and instances of unlikely happenstance. This long journey through the ranks of the Imperial Army has most certainly played a leading role in shaping his notoriously eccentric personality.

Leila

Leila is the young daughter of Nagoa, the Inalan guide. Her mother died in childbirth, and rather than leaving her to be cared for by the Inalan village women, her father opted to raise her himself. Thus, Leila has been traveling far and wide since her birth, accompanying her father on every guiding trip he has made during her lifetime. As a result, she now knows the paths and routes almost as well as her father and is a capable and hard adventurer at the tender age of twelve.

Nagoa

Nagoa is an intriguing individual who is many different things to many different people. Among the Northern Bandits, he is an esteemed leader and a respected point of contact between their culture and others. The Inala, known for their suspicions of outsiders and mistrust of strange looking races like elves and felintarks, rely on him to interact with and bring news from those groups that they tend to avoid.

Few outsiders know of Nagoa's standing in his own community. Often, he is contracted to guide caravens and travelers through the Dark Lands, and the people he guides tend to assume that he an unassuming rank and file bandit. Nagoa is an extremely proud man, coming from a high station, and sometimes finds that his bearing and cofidence are misinterpreted by those who are not versed in Inalan culture.

Moshel Atoosa'Shoket

Like so many tinker elves, Moshel strikes those around him as somewhat disinterested in others but nevertheless able to read and understand their motivations with uncanny accuracy. Those that know him say that this strange ability is especially pronounced with Moshel, which makes him invaluable as a part of a team of caravaners. His ability as a 'shaper' - or one that uses a form of tinkering magick to uncover existing natural patterns - has kept his band of travelers from being cheated or attacked on many occasions.

When not engaged in such activities, Moshel tend to occupy himself by building small flying machines and mechanical birds. Though not as skilled at this as he is at organizing trade routes, his creations never cease to amaze those around him with their ingenuity and intricate design.

Bali’Ekt Safir’al’Chaya’Radij din’Matesha

Safir's personal history is a particularly interesting one which bucks the common trends of felintark life. He came from a prominent and well-respected family of ra'zehm (essentially felin judges and barristers) and was actually going to be trained to become one himself. Prior to his debut into polite society and the continuation of his education, Safir took a trip across the southern wilds and met and married an Inalan seer, much to the chagrin of his family. Unable to bring her back to his homeland, Safir decided to forsake his career and become a caravaner. Though the marriage was shortlived, his fondness for travel outweighed his desire to return home. As a result, he is essentially estranged from his family.

Safir is an extremely warm and charming individual, and possesses little of the stereotypical aloofness or condescension many associated with his race. Like most felintarks, however, he wears his heart on his sleeve, speaking openly and bluntly about his feelings and opinions which occasionally gets him into trouble.

Emba 'Ekt Nayabel'al'Djejji'Chadesh din'Matesha

Having come from a long and well-known line of caravaners, Nayabel presumed she would go into the family business from an early age. Unlike many felintarks, she was homeschooled and received her education on the long trips her parents took across the great desolate stretches of land south of the Elvo-Felintark empire. The result of this is that Nayabel knows the business like the back of her hand - all the trade routes by heart, who is trustworthy and who is not, and fluently speaks several useful languages. By the same token, Nayabel's general working knowledge of other aspects of life is somewhat lacking in comparison.

Those that know her say that Nayabel is an extremely competent woman, but tends to be a bit scattered and absent-minded. Her pockets tend to be stuffed with bits of paper with cryptic notes scrawled on them that she can rarely decipher and she has been known to trail off in mid-sentence in a way which suggests she suddenly became preoccupied with another thought.

Citrene

Citrene is a red elf currently stationed in Jellihondor's adventuring battalion in the Rebel Army. At the age of 105, she is older than most of the other red elves in the group, but younger than the leaders, which she feels sometimes places her in an odd position. All in all, she feels more at home in military settings than out of them, as she is the niece of Valiyon (and, incidentally, the second cousin of Tlin), and fits in well with the jocularity and rigorous training the life of a rebel have to offer.

Sellior

Sellior is a young red elf in Jellihondor's battalion, known for his easy-going manner and prodigious consumption of pipe herb. Some consider him, in fact, too laid-back to be a good soldier, a judgement Sellior himself endorses, explaining that he only joined the Rebel Army under the behest of Elcrona, his best friend since early childhood. The truth is that Sellior is as committed and brave a fighter as any - just less apt than most to take the day-to-day details of army life with any seriousness.

Tlin

Tlin, in happier times

The story of Tlin, a red elvish archer in Jellihondor's battalion, is a sad one indeed. Like so many young soldiers, he was a casualty of senseless violence that he scarcely understood.

Tlin hailed from a small red elvish village near the western edge of the Fethil, and the inhabitants' close proximity to the Border Wars (including, from time to time, being ambushed by Imperial raiders) has made them more sympathetic to the Rebels' cause than other red evish enclaves. In fact, Tlin's family has quite a record with the Rebel Army - Tlin's father and three of his uncles (including the infamous Valiyon) were among the first and most notable red elves to join the fight. Most of the younger generation of the family (Tlin included) were inspired by their ideals and efforts, and joined with the Rebels as soon as their parents allowed it.

Tlin himself was a reserved, slightly nervous young elf with a quick mind. Since having met and befriended Helkint, Tlin displayed innate diplomatic talents as well: he was quite able to talk his best friend out of the quarrels Helkint manages to spark everywhere he goes, and often smooths matter out peacefully on top of it.

Tlin met his untimely demise at the hands of a race of psuedo-sentient malicious apes in the Dark Lands. His death, mercifully swift, haunts the bereaved Helkint to this day.

Sveren

Sveren the blue elf was born in the city of Norsa approximately 150 years ago. In keeping with the traditions of the blue elves, he was raised communally by male elves and those female elves that had not yet given birth. As is the case with most blue elves, Sveren was raised to be loyal, disciplined and suspicious of outsiders. However, despite this stern upbringing Sveren was always curious about the outside world and long dreamed of leaving the narrow confines of blue elf society. As such, when the time came for Sveren to serve in the blue elf militia (all male blue elves and women who have not yet had children must regularly fulfill military duties in addition to child care and domestic functions) he volunteered for any and all missions that gave him the opportunity to travel away from his home city. Thus was he able to develop an intimate knowledge of a fairly vast swathe of the Erkenheld Forest up to and including the Vinkenti Gate. When the fateful day of Svava's defeat at the hands of Jellihondor came and the queen selected him to lead the Rebels to the gate he saw an opportunity -- one that might never come again.

Helkint

A mischievous young elf, Helkint joined the Rebel Army 15 years ago at the age of 90. He was born to a family of traveling entertainers that roamed the eastern part of Elothnin, earning a living off their performances of popular skits and short plays for the townsfolk of the countryside. The independent-minded young Helkint developed a deep resentment towards humans, in response to their treatment of elves as second-class citizens, which led him to want to join with the Rebel Forces. His parents opposed his desire to take action, considering his impetuosity a serious danger to his continued existence. Nevertheless, Helkint opted to leave his family and ventured across Elothnin alone, until he met up with another elf, named Tlin, who helped him find the army and join up with Jellihondor's battalion.

Tlin and Helkint remained thick as thieves for some time, which often meant that Tlin was forced to participate in Helkint's undying thirst. Helkint has never forgiven himself for this, believing that had he not pushed his good friend to traverse the Dark Lands with him, Tlin would not have fallen in the battle against the strange apes in the desert.

Now scarred from the battle emotionally and physically, Helkint has become a quieter young elf with a haunted look about him.

Zartheim of the Texelfoote Clan

Zartheim shares with Jarthen the distinction of being one of the few rebels who is a native Elothininian. Zartheim's parents, members of the Texelfoote clan, left the Brovnajian Steppes as part of the Ogrish Diaspora and made their way to the clan's small colony near Lollimar. Zartheim grew up among giants, but in close proximity to humans, and is fluent in both Ogrish and the Common Tongue.

Zartheim joined the Rebel Forces when he realized that the discriminatory nature of the Border Wars put the giant communities scattered throughout Elothnin in danger. Currently, he uses his bilingual status, and his ambiguous height to occasionally gather intelligence from the Imperial Army.

Recent events in Jellihondor's battalion suggest that Zartheim's long-held hopes that his missions in the Rebel Forces would eventually lead him to his ancestral homeland: the small group have opened the Vinkenti Gate, a direct pathway into the steppes!

Clemhand the spy

Clemhand is a respected spy in the Imperial Army. He is by nature a reclusive, secretive type, and not much is known about him except that he has a deep distrust of magic, and that he joined the army at a fairly young age and was almost immediately placed in the spy corps. Despite his reticent nature, Clemhand can be very friendly and charming at times, and is always in possession of a wry and sardonic sense of humor.

As he is not as young as he once was, Clemhand is now in semi-retirement. He no longer goes on active intelligence missions, but stays with the army recruiting and training a younger generation of spies, such as Bertronius, Nelhoepher and Lem.

Elcrona

Elcrona is a young female red elf archer in Jellihondor's battalion. She is a native Fethilian, and thus speaks the Common Tongue in a more fluent and less accented manner than most of the other elves in the Rebel Army. Known as a passionate and highly independent girl, Elcrona left home, with her best friend Sellior in tow, and joined the rebellion at the tender age of 65 - roughly the human equivalent of 15. Elcrona is a quite accomplished self-taught archer, but her martial talents are often underestimated by those who are distracted by her young and delicate appearance.

Larthon Ractor

Larthon Ractor is a mid-level officer in her majesty's army. He came from a small town in the east near the mountains which specialized in mining various ores. Ractor, like many other young men before him, joined up in order to see more of the world, and was especially hoping to get some authentic Fethilian mush. While he is a fine militaryman and cuts an imposing figure, Ractor is not without his weaknesses. He has been known to take bribes on occasion (the Jarthen Furblog case is one example), and some have wondered whether the money is used to pay his gambling debts.

Though he is not aware of it, Ractor's past misdeed have caught up with him. Bertronius Worthis vowed to kill Ractor as vengeance for Jarthen's presumed death! The young lad is intent on getting to Susselfen, Ractor's last known location, in order to exact fitting retribution for the soldier's crimes.
