Jarthen Furblog

Our hero, a lithe lad of thirteen, from the provincial town of West Fethil, in the land of Elothnin. Jarthen is a boy with an easy charm and a confident air, traits that get him through many a scrape.

But, Jarthen is not a boy without troubles. His days cavorting about the Fethil with his best mate Bertronius are numbered when his own father bribes an officer in the Imperial Army to draft his son instead of himself. After having been conscripted, Jarthen quickly finds himself in the clutches of the very enemy he was drafted to fight against. However, in an earth-shattering revelation, Jarthen discovers that Queen Lilhelndine is in fact a cruel and malevolent witch!

In a rather unlikely turn of events, Jarthen has now taken up with the Rebel Forces, and is as devoted to their cause as any other creature in its ranks. Jarthen, being the lone human in the rebel army, initially wrestled with feelings of loneliness and isolation from his fellow soldiers, but soon struck up a friendship with Rethnaki, a brash young red elf. Rethnaki began introducing Jarthen to elvish ways, such as the smoking of pipe-weed. Though he is generally well-regarded by the rest of the rebels, Glothnafar has never warmed up to Jarthen and continues to make his life difficult whenever the opportunity to presents itself.

Jarthen, along with the rest of Jellihondor's battalion, have split off from the rest of the Rebel Army and marched northward. Their journey was pleasant enough...until they were captured by the blue elves of Norsa! After Jellihondor secured their freedom with his victory in his duel with Svava, Jarthen and his companions trekked to the ancient, mysterious Vinkenti gate.

Why in god's name is Jarthen such a gift? He's the protagonist, but he's got the IQ of a radish. You don't see anything wrong with this picture?
