Bertronius Worthis is the former best friend of our main protagonist, Jarthen Furblog. The 13-year-old, auburn-haired Bertronius is best described as an intelligent, somewhat reserved boy who is fiercely loyal to those he loves. Bertronius has recently displayed some minor magickal abilities, most likely due to the intermarriage of his human ancestors with red elves.
After receiving news that Jarthen is lost and presumed dead, Bertronius has fled from his comfortable home in West Fethil and privileged life as an heir of the Worthis clan so that he might avenge his friend's untimely demise. After joining the Imperial Army against his family's wishes, and marching to the front, Bertronius volunteered to join the spy corps, believing spydom would bring the stealth and flexibility necessary to hunt down Larthon Ractor, the man he blames for Jarthen's alleged death.
Much to his chagrin, Bertronius has been stationed in Perejin for his first official spy mission instead of Ractor's last known whereabouts.
