Sveren

Sveren the blue elf was born in the city of Norsa approximately 150 years ago. In keeping with the traditions of the blue elves, he was raised communally by male elves and those female elves that had not yet given birth. As is the case with most blue elves, Sveren was raised to be loyal, disciplined and suspicious of outsiders. However, despite this stern upbringing Sveren was always curious about the outside world and long dreamed of leaving the narrow confines of blue elf society. As such, when the time came for Sveren to serve in the blue elf militia (all male blue elves and women who have not yet had children must regularly fulfill military duties in addition to child care and domestic functions) he volunteered for any and all missions that gave him the opportunity to travel away from his home city. Thus was he able to develop an intimate knowledge of a fairly vast swathe of the Erkenheld Forest up to and including the Vinkenti Gate. When the fateful day of Svava's defeat at the hands of Jellihondor came and the queen selected him to lead the Rebels to the gate he saw an opportunity -- one that might never come again.
