The Jarthen Foundation: A Short History
The Jarthen Foundation is a multi-national conglomerate currently leading the world in what is has termed 'Jarthen Studies.' From the company's infrequent and nonsensical publicly released statements and internal memos, it can be inferred that their business interests lie somehow with oil, national intelligence, retarded kittens, and the therapeutic effects of Jarthen.
The Jarthen Foundation was founded in 1873 and experienced an meteoric rise to fame and wealth due to its innovative approach to adult entertainment. When Jon "Nigel" Seid took the company's helm ten years ago, however, the company's investments and interests veered decidedly off this path. While a substantial amount of resources are still expended in the making and circulation of fine adult entertainment products, the company is spending much more investing in the military-industrial complex. On the basis of its pornographically-accrued wealth, the Mr. Seid has begun sinking much of the company's capital into a mysterious R & D sector devoted to the effects of the "Jarthen experience" on retarded kittens.
The Jarthen Foundation has recently aligned itself with the Worthis Trust - a strange informational think-tank of sorts - which now manages the company's "unstable information" and possibly strengthens its ties in covert ways to various nationalistic governmental structures. In several documents and films, it is strongly implied that the Jarthen Foundation commissioned the Worthis Trust to perform experiments on retarded kittens for their Jarthen Studies project, but the exact nature of these studies is not yet known.
Many have come foward criticizing the Jarthen Foundation. Some have claimed that the huge corporation has centralized too much power in the hands of a man who is arguably insane. Others criticize the company for its lack of transparency regarding its extra-pornographic investments. Human rights activists have also questioned whether its treatment of intern violates ethical standards. The Jarthen Foundation has been attacked especially viciously since the untimely and somewhat suspect death of their contracted pressman, Terrance Squidby.
For the time being, however, the Jarthen Foundation has successfully weathered these criticisms. The fate of the Foundation seems uncertain today, and much of the business world is waiting to see what comes out of their strange new dabblings in kittens.
